Have you wondered why we ask about your race, ethnicity, and language when you call?

We are now improving our programs to be sure you have the information that is best for you. A person’s genes and culture can make him or her more likely than other people to have a disease like asthma or diabetes. To do this, we need to know more about you.

We will ask for your race, ethnicity, and the written and spoken language you prefer. This information will not be shared with anyone, except your doctors and health care providers. They also need to know you better.

If you help us learn more about you, we can help you get the care you need to find diseases early. This will help you take control or cure these diseases.

You do not need to give us this information or answer the questions we ask. But if you do, it will help us give you better health care. Again, your information will stay private. We will only share it with your doctor and healthcare providers.
